Hot Chip will release their highly anticipated 8th studio album, Freakout/Release, on August 19th. Freakout/Release see’s Hot Chip continuing from where they left us. They have continued to innovate their rich, intricate songcraft, with the result being a collection of flesh-and-blood songs.

On ‘Freakout/Release’ we see the band reaching into the darkness that has been the last few years, emerging as a true creative unit, with their gazes fixed positively on the future ahead.

2. Hot Chip began as the home recording project of members Alexis Taylor and Joe Goddard, who met while studying at Elliott School, Putney.
3. The band's second album, The Warning (2006), was nominated for the Mercury Prize!
4. Their music has appreared in numerous high profile US cartoon comedy shows! "Boy from School" featured in The Simpsons episode "A Totally Fun Thing That Bart Will Never Do Again" and "Over and Over" was featured in the American Dad episode "Bazooka Steve".
5. Their album 'Made in the Dark', which included the amazing song "Ready for the Floor", was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording! Well done guys !
